Client Success: How Gary's resilience (and a little support) led to a lasting job!

At Môn Communities Forward (Môn CF), nothing makes us prouder than seeing the hard work of our clients pay off. Today, we want to share the incredible journey of Gary—a truly committed, driven individual who embodies exactly what resilience looks like.
Over the last three years, Gary’s story has been one of adaptability, determination, and a fantastic "can-do" attitude.
🚧 Overcoming the hurdles of redundancy
Gary’s journey with Môn CF began back in 2023 after he was made redundant from 2 Sisters Limited. Facing redundancy is never easy, but Gary proactively signed up for our employment support.
He was paired with a dedicated Môn CF mentor who worked closely with him to:
Boost his CV with additional qualifications.
Conduct targeted job searches.
Build confidence for interviews.
The hard work paid off!
Gary quickly secured a position with Eirfuels, where he worked for 18 months!
Unfortunately, economic changes meant he faced redundancy again in November 2024.
🏢 Pivoting into new industries
Instead of letting a second redundancy get him down, Gary stayed connected with Môn CF. He listened to the advice provided, dusted himself off, and looked for the next opportunity.
His adaptability shone through when he secured a role as a Jetty Operative with Stena for the 2025 Cruise Ship season.
Môn CF was right there beside him, fully supporting Gary with the specialised training he needed to excel in the role. Crucially, during this time, Gary also gained his Forklift Licence, a qualification that would soon open even bigger doors.
👏The power of the Môn CF jobs fair
When the cruise season ended in September 2025, Gary found himself looking for his next chapter. He decided to head down to our Llangefni Jobs Fair to see what local employers had to offer.
That one afternoon changed everything:
The Connection: Gary chatted with the team at Caws Môn and filled out an enquiry form right at the event.
The Interview: Just one week later, he was invited in for a formal interview.
The Result: Thanks to his drive—and that valuable Forklift Licence he earned earlier in the year—Gary secured a full-time job with Caws Môn, starting in November 2025!
A role model for us all
Gary is a shining example of how utilising local support and keeping a positive mindset can change your career trajectory.
He remains incredibly grateful for the support he received from the Môn CF team, but the truth is, Gary did the hard graft!
We asked Gary what advice he would give to anyone else currently looking for work, and his words couldn't be more inspiring:
"I recommend everyone who is looking for work, simply attend the jobs fair. And if you don't have the qualification or licence, ask 'How do I work towards this?'"
