Ynys Cybi Landscape Partnership grants available

The Holy Island Landscape Partnership is offering grant funding for small businesses and organisations to promote local heritage and Welsh language.

Grants of between £500 and £2,000 are available for sustainable and long-term projects - including (but not limited to) interpretation, signposting, translation, bilingual signs and artwork - which offer a real ‘Welsh Welcome’ to those visiting Holy Island.

The grants process is linked to the Ynys Cybi Landscape Partnership vision which aims to see ‘Local people working together to protect and manage our island’s rich heritage, supporting a thriving community and giving visitors a special welcome for generations to come.’

All grant recipients will be required to:

· Promote the wider activities of the Landscape Partnership Scheme

· Promote and signpost to key heritage landscape features/centres

· Maintain the developed material/resources for 10 years

· Become part of the Holy Island Landscape Partnership Business Forum

All grant recipients will be required to promote the value of bilingualism and the Welsh language and culture in Businesses. Support will be available.

Ynys Cybi Landscape Partnership Programme Manager, Efan Milner said, "The Partnership is looking for quality grant applications which will help to enhance key features of Holy Island’s natural heritage, character, appearance and built heritage. We are also looking for robust projects which will help increase local understanding and pride in Holy Island’s unique heritage and promote it as an iconic international Visitor Gateway to Wales.”
