Connect to Work is a programme in England and Wales that aims to help disabled people, those with health conditions and people with complex barriers to employment, enter the world of work with confidence!
Môn Communities Forward is delivering the project on Anglesey.
Support is delivered through friendly, one-to-one mentorship that helps more people confidently enter the world of work.

Understand your skills
Your dedicated Môn CF mentor works with you one-on-one to identify your unique strengths and build your confidence. We look beyond your past CV to map out a realistic, tailored action plan that respects your circumstances and goals.
Connect you to local employers
We use our strong links with hundreds of businesses across Anglesey to match you directly with inclusive employers. Our team helps you bypass complex application processes and provides ongoing, on-the-job support to ensure you succeed.
Provide personalised training
We offer flexible, bespoke training solutions ranging from essential health and safety certificates to specialised vocational qualifications. You will gain the practical, accredited skills that local employers are actively looking for.
What you can expect
Personal Coaching
One-to-one chats with your dedicated mentor who works with you every step of the way, from initial support to finding your next steps. Your mentor works with you to achieve your goals.
CV & Job Application Support
Practice writing & updating your own CV, or utilise Môn Communities Forward's team of experienced job coaches who can help you stand out. Including practical help to source paperwork and track down qualifications.
Confidence Building
Be prepared for interviews through relaxed practice sessions to build your confidence and have you ready to impress potential employers.
Ongoing Support
Even after you start your new job, your mentor will be on hand to provide ongoing and continuous support to ensure you succeed!
Who can join Connect to Work?
You may be eligible for Connect to Work if you:

Are aged over 16 and live on Anglesey.

Are not currently on any other DWP-funded programme.
-
Are unemployed.
-
Are employed, but at risk of losing your job (after 3+ months in your role, excluding zero-hour contracts)

Have a health condition or disability, or face significant barriers to work.
Connect to Work is also open to applications from:

Carers and ex-carers.

People with experience of the criminal justice system.
-
Homeless individuals.
-
Former members of the Armed Forces and their partners.

People affected by substance dependency.
-
Care leavers and care-experienced young people.
-
Refugees and those on resettlement schemes.
-
Survivors of domestic abuse or modern slavery.

Young people at risk of serious violence.
How to get started?
Connect to Work is a refferal only programme, and there are many ways you can be referred for support, including:
Speak to your jobs coach
Your DWP jobs coach (job centre) can refer you to Môn CF and ask you be signed up to the Connect to Work project.
Ask community health teams
You can ask anyone who forms part of a health team in the community, including your GP, mental health workers, resettlement teams, substance misuse teams, and all kinds of social prescribers.
Self-referral
If you think Connect to Work is right for you, but you're not able to ask for a referral, you can always self-refer to the programme.
