Responsibilities

  • Translate a wide variety of official documents from English to Welsh and vice versa.
  • Proofread and edit translated materials to ensure grammatical accuracy and appropriate tone.
  • Ensure that all translations reflect the specific cultural context and nuances of North Wales.
  • Manage multiple translation projects simultaneously while meeting strict deadlines.
  • Maintain and update internal glossaries, translation memories, and terminology databases.

Requirements

  • Degree in Translation, Linguistics, or Welsh, alongside native-level fluency in Welsh.
  • Proven professional experience in English-to-Welsh and Welsh-to-English translation.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, grammar, and syntax in both languages.
  • Proficiency in using CAT (Computer-Assisted Translation) tools and terminology databases.
  • Ability to work independently, manage a busy workload, and consistently meet tight deadlines.
