Responsibilities

  • Carry out tree planting, thinning, and felling operations in designated woodland areas.
  • Operate and maintain chainsaws, brushcutters, and other specialized forestry machinery.
  • Clear and maintain forest paths, boundaries, and drainage systems to ensure public safety.
  • Assist in wildlife conservation efforts and the protection of natural habitats.
  • Adhere to all health and safety protocols specific to hazardous outdoor forestry work.

Requirements

  • Valid NPTC or Lantra qualifications in Chainsaw Maintenance, Cross-cutting, and Felling.
  • Previous practical experience in commercial forestry, arboriculture, or woodland management.
  • A high level of physical fitness and the ability to perform strenuous work in all weather conditions.
  • First aid certification, ideally with a specific forestry focus (+F).
  • A strong commitment to environmental conservation and safe working practices.
