Service Description

Learn the skills needed to operate legally as a door supervisor. Door supervisors are often the first point of contact between many businesses and members of the public. It is important therefore that they are effectively trained and meet legal requirements in what can be a challenging environment. The Highfield Level 2 Award for Working as a Door Supervisor within the Private Security Industry is aimed at learners who want to apply for a licence from the Security Industry Authority (SIA) to work legally as a door supervisor. Based on the SIA’s own specifications and updated to meet the latest requirements, it has been developed by Highfield, the leading awarding organisation for security qualifications and written by some of the country’s leading security experts. To complete this qualification learners are expected to undertake approximately 61 hours of learning Learn the skills needed to operate legally as a door supervisor. Also included in the total cost is our full-day Qualsafe accredited Level 3 Emergency First Aid at Work course. Due to nature of the training a minimum level of fitness is required for specific operations. Whilst we do not want to disadvantage any learner, it is an essential requirement. Key topics include: The main characteristics of the Private Security Industry The importance of safe working practices Drug-misuse legislation Issues and procedures relevant to the role of a door supervisor Licensing law Queue management How to recognise, assess and reduce risk in conflict situations Problem-solving techniques when resolving conflict Physical interventions and the implications of their use The use non-aggressive physical skills to protect yourself and others
