Why did you come to MônCF?

I had just completed a degree in education and had moved back home to Holyhead. I wanted to find a job in my chosen field, and I knew that finding something related to my degree could have been difficult, especially with everything that is happening in the world at the moment. For that reason, I decided to go to MônCF to see how they would be able to help, because I knew that they provided personalised advice and support.

Did you do any training?

Yes. I decided to do the Safeguarding, Paediatric First Aid and Mental Health First Aid courses. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the Safeguarding and Mental Health First Aid were provided over Zoom. I was provided with an information pack, handbook and workbook, which were sent to my home, so I had everything I needed to study before-hand.

Tracy and Ken did a great job of ensuring the courses were really informative, whilst being engaging at the same time. I would highly recommend them!

What are you doing now?

I have started my new job as Teaching Assistant at a local primary school. I am also hoping to start driving lessons again soon, and to enrol on a Welsh Language course.

What do you think is the best thing about MônCF?

I think that the personalised support is the best thing. Bethan and Natasha have both ensured I felt comfortable enough to contact them with any queries or concerns I have. They also helped by searching and sending a variety of job vacancies, and checking whether I needed any support with filling in applications or updating my CV. The variety of courses and information is also extremely useful.
