ANELU Programme

Working in partnership with secondary schools across Anglesey and Gwynedd, enabling pupils to become more confident to go out into the workplace.

Cain Sillence who attended the Anelu Programme while at Ysgol Ywchradd Caergybi is enjoying his job at The White Eagle as a Kitchen Porter.

What is the ANELU Programme?

In response to many young people being more suited to a vocational rather than an academic future post 16, we have developed the Anelu programme. At Môn CF, we recognise the importance of intervention early enough to support young people in gaining relevant skills and qualifications to introduce them to the world of work. The Anelu programme has been successfully piloted in Ysgol Uwchradd Caergybi and Ysgol Uwchradd Bodedern, Anglesey, and Ysgol Dyffryn Nantlle, Gwynedd, seeing pupils gain qualifications and moving on successfully to the next stage of education, employment or training. Successful completion of the Anelu programme teaches children the skills they need to progress into the world of work, whilst also having fun.

The programme teaches workplace relevant skills and is tailored to the selected hopes and aspirations of the groups. The ‘Performance and Curriculum Contribution Values’ points gained for these qualifications can collectively equate to an A GCSE grade. Following the programme, selected pupils can leave school with qualifications and accreditations which they may not have otherwise been able to achieve and which will be a key feature on their CVs for years to come.
