£5000 awarded to Holyhead Community Groups

Seven local community groups have been awarded grants of £500-£1000 to support the delivery of their projects. By obtaining a Community Chest grant, this will help the local groups and clubs to bring the community together, in turn, improving the quality of life in Holyhead.

A total of thirteen applications were submitted and the Holyhead Community Chest Grant Panel carefully selected the groups based on their funding proposal and plans to improve the community. The total awarded to the seven groups comes to a grand total of £5000!

The chosen groups were awarded funding for a wide range of activities, from education and training initiatives, inclusive activities and events; uniforms for group members; outdoor seating; toys for parent and toddler groups, and Christmas meals for people who will be isolated on Christmas day.

Pictured below are the seven groups - with Steph and Rozzy from the Holyhead Local Conversation team and Sylvia Jones and Margaret Eccleston who sit on the Community Chest Grant Panel - detailing their plans for the funding.
