The programme – which was so successful that plans are already afoot for the next run – aimed to increase learners’ confidence through a series of informal training sessions ranging from the traditional (interview skills, teamworking) to the topical (digital imprint). The young people were encouraged to carefully consider what prospective employers might be able to find out about them via the internet and, in particular, social media, and received coaching on setting up a LinkedIn profile.

In addition to activities based in our state of the art training room, the participants on the programme went out and met with local employers from a variety of sectors, including hospitality, care and construction. They visited a number of workplaces – McDonald’s, Tesco and The Trearddur Bay Hotel to name a few – where they were supported to think about and discuss the different types of skillsets that might be needed in each one.

Pathways is an intensive programme, proving that much can be achieved in a very short period of time. However, its unique selling point is that the help on offer from Môn CF doesn’t end when the programme ends – our ongoing mentoring service will last for as long as it is needed.
