Responsibilities
- Lead groups of varying ages and abilities in outdoor pursuits like climbing, kayaking, and hiking.
- Deliver thorough safety briefings and ensure all participants understand emergency procedures.
- Inspect, maintain, and log the condition of all outdoor equipment and safety gear.
- Plan engaging activity sessions that are tailored to the weather conditions and group dynamics.
- Provide basic first aid and emergency response in remote outdoor environments if required.
Requirements
- Relevant National Governing Body (NGB) qualifications (e.g., Mountain Leader, BCU Paddlesport Instructor).
- Valid, up-to-date Outdoor First Aid certification (minimum 16 hours).
- Significant personal experience and passion for outdoor pursuits in mountainous or coastal terrains.
- An energetic, outgoing personality with the ability to motivate and engage diverse groups.
- A strict commitment to health and safety and risk management protocols.
