Tell us a bit about your company:
Glan Gors is a 5* holiday park just outside of Benllech on Anglesey. We are open to owners and guests for ten months of the year. We have numerous green spaces around the park, and we employ a small team to maintain these throughout the year.
How did you hear about Môn CF?
Your Employer Engagement Officer approached us with a view to supporting us with recruitment, but we were also interested in what your Training team had to offer. We requested a quote for some Grounds Maintenance and Health & Safety training, and were very happy with the price and the swift response we received.
What training did you receive from Môn CF?
Over the past couple of years, a number of our staff have been trained by Môn CF in Manual Handling and Grounds Maintenance, including Lantra qualifications in Trimmers and Pedestrian & Ride-On Mowers. Our staff already do their jobs really well, but it’s important to us that we show them we are investing in them by accrediting and recognising their skills.
How has the training you received benefited your business?
Like I said, our staff know that we are committed to upskilling them. The training gives them the background knowledge they need to complete their everyday tasks safely, and teaches them to look after the machinery and equipment properly, which saves us time and money. Above all, the training allows our staff to take ownership of and responsibility for their own work – so everyone wins.
How satisfied were you with the service you received?
Very! The process was efficient from start to finish. We were able to choose dates that suited the business, and your trainers came out to deliver the courses at the park which made everything more relevant to what our staff do day-to-day. The service was smooth and reliable – basically, there was no drama. We’d highly recommend Môn CF.

I sit on the Vibrant and Viable Places board for Holyhead, and attend their meetings regularly. This is how I met Alun Roberts, Business Support Manager for Môn CF, who told me all about the company.
I wasn’t aware before speaking to Alun, but then I came to Môn CF and met with Cassie Owen, Employer Engagement Officer, who told me more about what they had to offer in terms of recruitment support.
Cassie organised for Môn CF’s customers to have interviews with us. She shortlisted suitable candidates and sent their CVs over to us. We were impressed with the selection and decided to interview all of them in Môn CF's modern and informal setting on the high street in Holyhead, 'The Pod'.
Yes, some of the candidates interviewed were eligible for certain funding streams, including paid work placements. I was made aware of the Active Inclusion Fund (Strand 2), and Môn CF supported us with all the necessary paperwork linked to this programme.
Yes, we are always receiving further support for existing staff members who we hired through Môn CF, and we are continuing to build our professional relationship by holding interviews for new vacancies on their premises.
The staff; they’re lovely and easy to get on with!
